Indianapolis-Wood-Mizer LLC, the world's leading sawmill manufacturer, announced plans to build a new production facility in Batesville, Indiana. The new plant will replace Wood-Mizer's current sawmill manufacturing plant in New Point, Indiana.

Wood-Mizer reached an agreement with regional leaders in southeastern Indiana to build an 85,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 13 acres of land in Batesville, Indiana. The factory will immediately bring 120 jobs to the area and 15 additional jobs for the community at the same time.

"The new Wood-Mizer manufacturing facility is an important investment that will bring employment and future economic growth opportunities to our communities," said Batesville Mayor Rick Fledderman. "We are very eager to cooperate with Wood-Mizer and look forward to our continued partnership in the future."

The City of Batesville encouraged Wood-Mizer to build a production plant in Batesville by providing incentive programs including project financing and other benefits. Wood-Mizer announced an investment of US$8.4 million in land, buildings, equipment and improvements for the new manufacturing plant.

"Participating in communities in southeastern Indiana for more than 30 years, we hope to create an expansion opportunity for Wood-Mizer and the local economy," said Darryl Floyd, Wood-Mizer's chief operating officer. "Although it has become one of the largest companies in Batesville, Wood-Mizer is pleased to continue to manufacture sawmills in this place with more efficiency and greater capacity. We would like to thank the city of Batesville for its help to make this opportunity possible."

The plant is scheduled to be completed in December 2015 and will produce Wood-Mizer's industry-leading product line of portable sawmills, industrial sawmills and blade maintenance equipment, which are distributed all over the world.

As a leading manufacturer of portable band sawmills for more than 32 years, Wood-Mizer offers a wide range of portable and industrial sawmill equipment.
