It happened very early in the morning, just before 2:00 am on April 14, 2022,

Apple Valley Police sent some deputies to the 20000 block of Highway 18 near the Walgreens and Del Taco for a report of a catalytic converter theft.

Upon arrival, authorities found out that a person who was identified as the victim heard a loud saw machine noise coming from outside. When he went out to investigate, he found a man and a woman, later identified as Ericka Desiree Lister and George Eric Jimenez, removing the catalytic converter from his very own car. The victim jumped into action and detained Lister and Jimenez until deputies arrived.

Lister and Jimenez were arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for grand theft and are being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
