P ublisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Santa Monica Studio announced God of War Ragnarök has gone gold. This means principal development for the game is complete and what is left is to fix bugs that might be discovered.

"On behalf of SMS and all of our partners, thank you to the fans for supporting us over the course of development. We’re almost to launch and can’t wait for you to play on November 9!"
God of War Ragnarök will launch for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 9.

Great news. This confirms no more delays. Regarding the support studios this is what I found. PSS Creative Arts - internal support studio, seem to be increasing in size by a lot Bluepoint - already owned by Sony, was mostly remake studio, but have started working on a new game Valkyrie Entretainment - already owned by Sony have been only support and co-dev so far Redhot - independent only support for art and concept so far (worked on several PS games) Supper Alloy - Independent only support for motion capture and the like (worked on several PS games) Jetpack Interactive - Independent provided support and ported previous GoW to PC Supergenius - Independent support dev that also work on VR (GoW VR would be cool) Original Force - Massive support company (on their list of customer MS, EA, tencent and NetEase are called but not Sony)
Why would people downvote this post?
Some people downvote other people because they don't like said person. Obviously people should up/downvote based on the content of the post. However that is not how reality works.
This is probably the game that will take my PS4 Pro into retirement. Looking forward to it!

PS5 already sells every single unit that is available to buy.
Only if Sony has the hardware to sell it. Either way, this game will push whatever hardware they have available.
They are sold out so far, so we won't be able to measure the impact on sales.
It can't in the short term. PS5's sell out essentially as soon as they are assmebled in the factory. It's production that is held back due to chip shortages.
