The meeting court sentenced Goode to death on March 8, 2019, and the offender challenged it in the High Court. The state government has submitted a request to HC to confirm the death sentence.

"Seeing a happy and harmless child playing in her own world, a villain driven by desire noticed her," the judges of the Chamber of Justice Sadhana S Jadhav and Prithviraj K Chavan observed. A few days later, the minor was killed and her body was found in a muddy pond.

"Such incidents made every little girl’s parents feel chills on their backs, and then they sent their unsuspecting and innocent underage girls to see the rainbow, because they would be afraid whether she would become the prey of any monsters. The safety of girls is of utmost importance to society,” HC observed.
